Search the World

One endpoint to search observations across the Earth.

Search the World

POST /v1/stream is the single entry point for searching the physical world. Every search combines three inputs:

  • What — a natural-language query for anything visually observable (query).
  • Where — a region scope such as a country, state, city, or one or more coordinate cells (region_id or position as an object with a points array).
  • When — an optional capture-time filter (year).

Stream resolves your query and region, retrieves matching captures through semantic visual search, and returns a StreamResponse containing StreamResult objects, a generated answer, and a stable result_id.

Because searches are saved, you can reopen a completed search from its Outerview result page, paginate through large result sets, and share the deep link with other users.
